The eKey adapter for the iPhone is coming any day now, according to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. This will allow Brokers who use an iPhone to access and manage their keyboxes completely with the iPhone. In fact, you can download the app now from the iTunes App Store. But you won't be able to use any of the functions until you get the Supra eKey Adapter and an authorization code from the NWMLS. Supra even has a promotional video on the Supra website showing agents giving testimonials:
The main features are:
- Obtain keys from the keybox
- Complete updates and alerts wirelessly
- Manage and program your keyboxes
- Open keybox shackles and change their codes
This app, along with other apps quickly coming to market for both agents and consumers, will probably speed up the adoption of mobile devices and as an all-in-one solution for all licensed agents. There will probably be a Droid version coming out at some point, but by then I suspect you will see Apple leap ahead again using cross-features with the iPad.
More information can be found on he Supra website.
UPDATE: The iPhone eKey has been released and is available at the NWMLS ($51.95). Once purchased you need to get an authorization code from the NWMLS office to register the app to make it functional.
