We're starting to have those cool winter days again. And a nice, hot meal warms the cockles of your heart and helps take the chill off. There's no place better to go for this than Mike's Chili Parlor in Ballard. Well-known for it's amazing chili, it's been owned and operated for 4 generations by the same family. The area around it has grown tremendously over the last few years. But Mike's remains the same with down-home local tavern feeling that is the real Ballard.
You can have a bowl of chili, a chili burger, or a chili dog. But make sure you have it covered with all the condiments: minced jalapeno, diced onions, and fine shavings of cheese. This is what makes it truly special.
My good friend Edy likes to go to Mike's for lunch. But I prefer to go for dinner and wash my chili down with a local Mac & Jacks micro-brew or two. Either way, you're going to feel warm and full when you leave.
