With inventory being so low right now in the U-District, Duncan Place Condos is creating quite the buzz. Construction has just began but they are anticipating occupancy in early 2009. Located just above 45th Ave NE on 8th, the 6 story complex will feature 63 units, offering studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. The building and it's units look like they will be very contemporary and light. Amenities will include a rooftop deck (which should have some amazing skyline views) and an owner's lounge.
The condo building is only going to be 7 blocks from UW, and 6 blocks from University Ave (“the Ave”). Also close by are movie theaters, loads of cafes and restaurants, University Playground (tennis courts, ball field, playground), Trader Joe's, Safeway, Husky Stadium, the Burke-Gilman Trail, you name it and it's probably in the U-District.
This is a much needed addition to this area. I happen to live just a few blocks from Duncan and can personally vouch for the neighborhood. There is such a lack of inventory, especially condos, that I think this will be a highly sought after project. I haven't gotten information on pricing just yet, but I should have it soon and will update as soon as it's available.
